Nice start

Puff piece on the Odd and Unusual Sale in St. Jacob’s.

The first animals to be led in to the pen for viewing are four miniature goats — youngsters about the size of rabbits. One baby bottle included in each purchase.

They’re sold for $32.50 each. The auctioneer — a fresh-faced young man in an outsized boater and mutton-chop sideburns — shouts up to the winning bidder, “How many of them do you want?”

“Three,” she yells back.

“Three?” he says sadly. “Don’t you want the last poor little one?”

“Alright,” she says.

It’s a nice start.
