Road kill

A discursive look at animal lovers and, eventually, the London Humane Society controversy.

Even today, I won’t slam on the brakes of my car to avoid hitting an animal. If I can slow my vehicle safely to give the animal more time to get across the roadway, I will. But I won’t swerve or hit the brakes as if a child had run onto the road. There is a difference between the life of a child and the life of an animal.
