Not equipped

Dog problem needs action on Cowichan Tribes land.

“They should hire an animal control person who does that job exclusively,” said Bakken.

“The person they have now is not equipped to do the job because he is the lone bylaw enforcement person.

“His job is to enforce all the bylaws — which is impossible to do each and every day — and on the list of priorities, animal control is at the bottom.”

Tribes’ band manager Ernie Elliott was contacted by the News Leader Pictorial early last week and said he would look into the matter, but did not call back.
