Ban bunnies

Richmond considers restricting rabbit sales.

The Richmond Animal Protection Society urged the committee to enact a total ban, arguing that even if rabbits are spayed or neutered, it won’t stop people from abandoning their pets when they’re no longer wanted.

But representatives of PJ’s Pets, Richmond’s only pet store that sells rabbits, said if rabbit sales are banned here, people will simply travel to other municipalities to buy their animals.
